Gill Wilkes is a British freelance journalist, an experienced war correspondent who has covered numerous armed conflicts around the world, escaping death several times. Based in Tangier, Morocco, she is doing a report on migrants trying to reach Europe. To escape with her life after meeting a smuggler, she is forced to board an old fishing boat with a ferryman and some twenty African refugees. This brutal event is an unexpected opportunity to record their stories, their dreams and their hopes.
